Day 22: Soft Cocktail Recipes + Telling Better Stories

Welcome to Day 22!

Yesterday we addressed the harmful (and abundant) messages we receive telling us that we need alcohol for every occasion, emotion, event and celebration. And, by now, we are far enough along in the course that I hope you are starting to feel that it’s simply not true.

There are so many people who are deciding to embrace life - and all the ups and downs it has to offer! - with clarity and a completely refreshingly new perspective.

So, no matter what the reason is that you are deciding to take a break from alcohol, it can be easy to feel pretty lonely out there without any options.

But the great thing is that there are a rising number of retailers, people, influencers, brands and restaurants out there noticing that not everyone drinks. And, slowly but surely, they are finding ways to provide a variety of options to celebrate and cater to YOU - the non-drinker! These inclusive initiatives allow you to:

  • Enjoy soft cocktails or mocktails in social settings, restaurants or at special events

  • Explore new recipes to try in your own home when you are hosting an event or want to enjoy a drink with complex flavors that hits the spot

  • Send a loved one a note that you are thinking of them without having to sort through all the “mommy needs wine” or “life is better when I’m pickled” greeting cards

  • Open up the conversation and identify what is best for you when it comes to health and wellness initiatives

  • Allow you to pursue your dreams and goals (whether personal or professional) without being hindered by an anesthetic

Today, I’m thrilled to present a partnership that presents the best of both worlds.

Marnie Rae and We Are in Good Company have collaborated to create a set of recipe notecards that offer the best of both worlds! The beautiful stationery allows you to send greeting cards or thoughtful notes to friends and family without making a “humorous” nod to your alcohol intake, while also providing fun soft cocktail recipes to try and enjoy.

I’m here to tell you, these cards are BEAUTIFUL! I have personally purchased a few sets and I find that - because they are on hand - I’m looking for excuses to send them to my friends!

See below for images and recipes - and then don’t forget to see the NEXT STEPS to complete Day 22, which also includes some additional links that includes more details on the growing trend of sober dining and soft cocktails!
